Skypull, a limited liability company, is currently based in Lugano Switzerland and has roots in the University ETH Zurich. Their goal is working towards transforming knowledge and experience working in renewable energy and aerospace into an entrepreneurial idea. They hope to create an energy source that is able to provide humans with low-impact, inexpensive, easy energy that will, eventually replace current sources of fuel.
With a recent round of funding, they have received CHF 130,000 (approximately $131,500) and aim to create a commercially viable prototype by 2020. The team expects to dramatically reduce costs (about 50%) while yielding significantly (95%) more energy than a normal wind turbine. It will do this by removing the need for a turbine tower, allowing the Skypull to be more versatile and deployable. In addition to reducing costs while improving energy output, it will also mean that the visual and environmental impacts are almost null.
