Start-ups are an interesting engine of innovative ideas but often represent a journey into the unknown that causes dizziness.
What is the startups' secret for success that can drive away the vertigo of failure?
Bill Gross, founder of the businesses incubator IdeaLab, gave a Ted Talks where he tries to shed new light on the factors that drive the success or failure of some startups. In his study Gross analyzed over 200 companies booming in various sectors, from Airbnb to CarsDirect, not just launched by IdeaLab but also other hundreds outside his organization (to have a general overview) and he identified a success factor that stands out from others.
It's always obviously hard to predict if startups will be successful or not, but the results of this study were unexpected.
What matters is being in the right place at the right time: it's all about timing.
