Second Partner Meeting in Patras (Greece)
Tuesday, 17 October 2017

On the 29th of March, 2017 the consortium of the GLOBAL-SPIN Project (Transnational Entrepreneurship Corporate Learning: Fostering Effective Internationalization Strategies in Academic Spin-Offs) met at the University of Patras in Patras, Greece to celebrate their second meeting. The Project is led by the Fundación General Universidad de Granada-Empresa and is within the Erasmus + Programme–Knowledge Alliances framework.

GLOBAL-SPIN aims to develop an innovative and inclusive training tool for managers of academic Spin-Offs on transnational entrepreneurship, based on a new approach to corporate learning and using web and tablet technologies. The goal with this project is to provide the knowledge, skills, and resources needed by professionals in order to implement effective strategies of internationalization in their ventures.

This second meeting was convened in order to check in on the work progress of all partners, focusing especially on the results of the research phase of the project. Partners dove into the current situation for internationalising companies in their countries and the competencies necessary to be a successful entrepreneur. In addition, the consortium covered the results from focus groups and surveys carried out in all partner countries. A preliminary report on Transnational Entrepreneurship, highlighting the information obtained, is in progress.

The Finnish partner VAMK is taking charge with producing this report and the University of Patras led the discussion about turning the information acquired into Corporate Learning Tool. With the results from this phase, the goal is to put together a platform with the most important skills and knowledge necessary for optimum outcomes for internationalising businesses.

The meeting was very successful both from a work view and from a social view. The partners were able to take pleasure in a social dinner on the 28th of September and enjoy some Greek hospitality. Partners are very excited about the advancing of the project and the chance to work with such a strong group.
