The European Data Incubator (EDI) has set up a free acceleration program for startups offering solutions based on data processing.
Before you begin, you might ask: what is EDI? EDI is project funded by the European Commission through the research and innovation program Horizon 2020. The project, involving the collaboration between 20 members from different European countries, is coordinated by the University of Deusto, Spain. EDI aims to enable Big Data focused experimentation and business incubation for startups and teams based in Europe by making necessary tools, data, and resources available. The incubation process in EDI consists of 3 phases: explore, experiment, and evolve, during which continuous technical, business and funding support is provided.
Launched on March 28th, 2018, EDI has its first open call for SMEs across Europe. Up to 45 projects will be selected for the incubation process per each of the three rounds planned. The selected entities can obtain up to € 100,000. The call is open until 27th June 2018 and the applications can be submitted via the F6S, a platform that delivers different startup programs, opportunities to drive traction, grants and services.
